Robert Park:  

My life has never really been what I planned it to be back in High School, but looking back now; I doubt I would change any of it. There have been many good things and some bad things, but through it all I have been very lucky - and happy. I attended James John Elementary for kindergarten and then to George Elementary for grades 1 through 8. I moved to the new George Elementary in 1951 when it first opened. Then on to Benson Polytechnic High School, where I majored in Electronics (Radio). After High School I attended PSU until I was drafted into the Army during the big build up for the Vietnam "Conflict". When I came back, I returned to school at PSU then on to OSU for my BS and UofO for MS. I worked for the Government (NASA) during some of the Apollo series then back to Stanford for my PhD. I came back to Oregon to teach Math and Computer Science, and have taught in several districts around the state. My last position before retiring was in the Portland School District teaching math and Science at Benson!! I am now officially retired (2005). I am single and I have three adopted sons - the youngest is 39. I also have five grandsons and two granddaughters, and six great grandchildren. I moved to Eastern Oregon (Helix - a small town 17 miles outside of Pendleton, OR) after retiring, and have been doing part time teaching and an occasional workshop for teachers through the local ESD when asked. I did not renew my teaching certificate in 2014, so I am now fully retired. I also raised pure bred all black German Shepherds. The last of the five I kept as part of the family has now passed so no more dogs (news flash!) - I now have a new puppy (Belgium Melanois) named Calista and she is a holy terror - She keeps me going. My oldest son, Ron, is a contractor and now lives in Texas. My middle son, Robert, is a truck drive...Expand for more
