You see, when maggie made this point I don't think she realized that, in a sense, she was actually doing exactly what she said was so impossible. Thank you Maggie. In my humble opinion I think Matt was exceptional in all the ways that are too often overlooked. He was well mannered and polite, genuine, caring, responsible, compassionate, and generous to a fault. He never took out his own frustration or discomfort on others even at the lowest possible moments. He put the feelings and well being of his family and friends first, often at the expense of his own, and did so happily and gracefully. Unfortunately these qualities are too often viewed as commonplace or trivial when, in fact, they are as rare and valuable as anything could be in this world. When I think of Matt I am reminded of one of the most well known characters in cinema history and, at the risk of sounding like a "film nerd" as Matt would have called me, I would like to explain why. You see, I feel that Matt shares a kindred spirit in the character of George Bailey from the classic film "It's a Wonderful Life".
