Life My family and I decided to move to San Diego in 1990 to get away from the cold Chicago weather. I have a home a few miles from the Pacific ocean in LaJolla (University City), CA by the University of California campus. My 26 year old son graduated from Drake University in DeMoines, IA with a BA in Political Science and is a PhD candidate in political science at the University of Oregon. I'm a biostatistician/actuary for a large biotechnology / medical corporation. Fro many years I worked in medical research in Rochester, NY, then for the American Hospital Association as a Manager in their Office of Public Policy Analysis, then for the Allstate Insurance Company in Northbrook IL in a number of management positions. I retired on Sept 22, 2006 from Beckman Coulter Inc. as Sr. Staff Biostatistician and currently I'm Vice President, Global Clinical / Regulatory Affairs Inverness Medical Innovations subsidiary in San Diego.
