robert's Story

To paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumors of "Bob" Rambo's demise in the Vietnam war have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, I survived as an enlisted Air Force photographer (having been shot at only a few times), went to college afterward on the GI Bill, got a degree in Journailism from Cal State Northridge, received a commission as an officer in the Naval Reserve and retired from the military after 20 plus years of service. p in San Antonio, Texas then photography technical school in Denver, Colorado. When Kennedy was shot I was stationed at a Strategic Air Command base in Massachusetts. I was only 17 but I grew up fast. I have very pleasant memories of high school; being on the gymnastics team, a yell leader, singing at assemblies, and acting in drama class productions. I've had a blessed life ranging from working in Hoillywood as an advertising copywriter to piloting our boat through storms in southeast Alaska's rocky shores ...for fun! I wish all of you, my classmates, the very best and look forward to seeing you at the reunion, where we can tell our storise, some harmless exaggerations and get caught up on decades of living history. Cheers, Robert Forrest (aka Bob) Rambo LCDR, USNR Ret.
