To paraphrase Mark Twain, the rumors of "Bob" Rambo's demise in the Vietnam war have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, I survived as an enlisted Air Force photographer (having been shot at only a few times), went to college afterward on the GI Bill, got a degree in Journailism from Cal State Northridge, received a commission as an officer in the Naval Reserve and retired from the military after 20 plus years of service. My wife and I spent 17 years living aboard our 38 foot motorsailor in the Pacific Northwest and I was Mayor of Port Townsend, Washington in 1999-2000.
