Robert's Story
In Berkmar High School, I pretty much kept to myself, but I did have my own friends over the time I was there. I think a good number of them came from me being a part of the chess club. I started in the chess club in my sophomore year because I didn't know when and where they were meeting in my freshman year. I think my biggest accomplishment was in my senior year when we went to the National Scholastic Championship in Pulaski, VA. I never though I would go there, but I think I did pretty good winning 4 of 7 games there.
As you might notice I abbreviated Virginia above. That comes from me working for mailing businesses for more than half my life. I started full time the day after I graduated. It pays OK, but I know I want to do more like being a published author. Of course one of my biggest genres has to be science fiction. I've always loved that since I was very young.
My current interests has got to be computers. I know in high school I was pretty much a geek, and in those days you really were offended by that. Now that's not the case because of the computer age. I proudly say that I'm a geek and don't get offended anymore.
When I started working in the computer room at my current employer, I learned a lot about computers. It was more than what I learned in high school which we had those Apple IIe computers. I got to understand how to operate and even build or repair PCs. w one in its place. I think that's just a little too advanced for me. I'll just replace the mother board myself.
People hate asking for my help in computers thinking I would be upset or something, but I don't mind it. As long as I'm teaching someone about their computer, I'll be very happy. I taught my girlfriend about as much as I know, and I think she's come a long way since I first met her. I even taught someone over the internet back when I was chatting online. I even helped her with problems and was just about mentally pictured what she saw.
I know the interest in TV is very vague, but I really love watching British television shows. I currently don't own BBC America, but I am going to change that some time in the future since I am considering of getting a digital satellite dish. I am fine with all the DVDs I own for the moment, but that will change soon enough.
Here's something I remember when I was attending eighth grade at Lilburn Middle. I broke my collar bone some time near the end of the school year. I was out for I cannot remember how long. I believe it might have been 2 or so months. I remember coming back that last week of school, and when I walked into the classroom I heard nothing but gasps. It made me feel that everyone was concerned about me and wondered what happened to me. It was a nice feeling, and I guess I didn't realize how much people cared about me.
This is pretty much all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's more later on. Thank you for reading! :-)
