Life
I was born in Victoria, B.C. in Jan. 1929. Married 55 years to Marguerite (nee Hick) born in Vancouver, Sept. 1929 We have 4 children, 3 girls, 1 boy, 5 grand children, 3 girls, 2 boys. Our first great grandson was born May 3rd, 2006. Our first great granddaughter was born November 5th, 2007. Our 3rd Great Granddaughter was born Feb. 4th 2016. Retired February, 1989 after 31 years with Canada Post as a Letter Carrier. Royal Canadian Legion member for 36 years, 16 years in Br. 43 Prince George and over 21 years in Cowichan Br. 53 in Duncan, B.C. Officer. I received my Legion Life Membership on June 25, 2006. I was active in Scouting for over 40 years, from boy to District Commissioner. I am also a Prostate Cancer survivor. I attended Willows Elementry School grade 1 (1934-35 failed), Alberni Elementry grades 1 to 3 (1935-38 failed grade 3) Bordon St. Elementry, Prince Rupert, B.C. grade 3-4 (1938-40) South Park Elementry, Victoria, B.C. grade 5 (Sept. 1940- Feb. 1941) Monterey Elelmentry grades 5-8 (Feb. 1941-44) Oak Bay High grades 9-10 (1944-46). Dropped out of school to go to work. I have been invited to and attended 3 Oak Bay High class of '48 reunions, even though I never graduated. .
