Robert's Story

Life Ah, so much has changed since high school. I'm single again, living with my parents, and a nerd. Okay so nothing has changed since High School. Wait. I have three children, so there's one thing I wasn't doing in high school. (wink) The children are my life, I'm the greatest father ever, yadda yadda yadda. I'm a very happy person and I like making others laugh. Some say I laugh to hide the pain, but I say, "How's this for pain," as I kick 'em in the twig and berries. I've worked for Microsoft, ABCNEWS, DISNEY and a bunch of now bankrupt high tech companies you've never heard of (not my fault.) I'm currently a consultant freelance web designer/developer. I'm back up from Texas. Mark Cuban got rich and I didn't... but I took three swings and quietly walked back to the dugout. I can't tell you where I live now 'cause I'm sure I still owe people money. But as all the good stalkers know, its easy to find out where I live (hey you!) I don't talk politics much anymore. I find it as useful as telling homeless people they smell bad. I look like a jerk and it just pisses off the homeless people. But if things don't change, there are going to be a lot more stinky homeless people. I'm looking forward to pulling up to the reunion with my black escort -- that's my car to clarify -- and parking it next to all the rented BMW's and Porsches. Twice I've had an auto way too expensive, just to impress people, but as I matured I realized it didn't make my hoo ha any bigger and I didn't feel any better about myself.... Once I have that midlife crisis, then I'll probably have surgery to increase my hoo ha and then go into debt to buy a sports car, but until then, its "point A to point B" babe. It's going to be nice touching base will all of you I haven't seen since, well, the last reunion. My plan is to be the guy after the reunion everyone says, "What was up with that Robert guy?" On my "Hello, my name is..." sticker I'm going to be the one with the name, "Stop staring at my man boobs!" Actually, I won't do that. I'll place the sticker a tad lower. I go to plenty of Seahawk, Mariner, and Cougar games (...Expand for more
RiP Sonics). If you are ever in the Safeco/Qwest area for one of aforementioned games, look for me at the Pyramid Brewery beer garden. I spend a bunch of time there. Look for me. I'm the one drinking a beer while all the drunks are laughing and trying not to spill theirs. We'll talk about how we are going to make this upcoming reunion one we'll never forget.... That is unless we pass out or do something like hook up with someone from Sequim. We'll claim it never happened; you all know the drill. Gosh, you'd think I would have learned after one, but NO! I've got to end this now, but I want to take you way back into the time machine: "We're the best and we're going to heaven 'cause we're the class...." That's as far as I can go. I just threw up in my mouth right there. We really shoulda worked on that class slogan back in middle school, don't you think? Bye ya'll. College Go Cougs! Okay, so a lot of people go to college for seven years. And yes, I know most of them are called doctors. But the truth is, anyone who went to college with me knows I didn't go seven years. Hell, some semesters I was lucky to go seven days! I was never more than seven inches from an add/drop form. I spent most of my time in the newspaper room, playing basketball, or out. But I made a lot of great memories, that's for sure. I just wish I could remember them. For me, like most, I didn't actually start taking life seriously until the birth of my first child... who was actually a week old WSU graduation day 1994. It was also the same day the Sonics were shocked by the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs too. My outlook on sports was also forever altered that day. Things were placed in proper persective -- a perspective I've been fortunate to hold on to and hone ever since. I've learned that the only things of value you possess in life, from a worldly sense, are the relationships you have with family and friends. So I spend most of my time trying to not take life too seriously, and spending as much time as possible laughing and making memories of my brief time on this Earth... I just wish I could remember them.
