Robert's Story
Life
My first daughter Summer was born '82 when I was 18, she has graduated college at U OF H and is now going to U T at Tyler working on her masters, I had a motorcycle accident '87 lost my left arm,bummer, and tore up my leg pretty bad , I built a house in Dayton TX with the help of my brother Mike , Genaro Carrillo, and Lee Mankins and moved out there in '90,got divorced in '94, after meeting the love of my life Anna and married her in '96,she has graduated Angelina college in Lufkin '2007 as a RN-and is working at livingston hospital in the labor and delivery department ,my son Jacob is 20 he is big as a bear, lives with me part time when he's not at college , he got a 4 year ride for business at Sam Houston, Samantha is 18 shes has Graduated from Onalaska high she lives with me also,and is smarter then I 'll ever be already, she has a scholarship to Missouri State University and will start this august., I have 2 wonderful step kids,Garrett 20 who rides bulls and was in the national high school rodeo Assc. and is also attending college at Sam,after working offshore for a bit, Alyssa 15 ,loves horses and is in band and just made L.T. for the color guard flag team for Barbers Hill high school,,Since 1996 I've owned and run a contracting company,starting in 05 my brother Mike and I have been building and selling houses in the Onalaska lake livingston area so if you or anyone you know needs a nice three bedroom by the lake or anywhere else get in touch, I love to hunt and fish and I'm on a big deer lease up here if anyone is interested in coming up to hunt, My wife and I also love to go on cruises , Cozumel is our favorite so far. I Asked Jesus into my life '99(praise the lord) my wife and I are very active in church and love it ...no regrets,I've been blessed, it just took me a long time to realize it, I have to tell ya'll The Lord must have a plan for me I had two bad bike wrecks before losing my arm, 2 car crashes neither were my fault, 1 car hit by train (Murray was driving) I was riding shotgun on edgebrook a 70 car train hit us, been shot in the leg by a palestinian man at a gas station,had to take a few knives away from want to be gangstas on the back streets of soho, was shot at point blank by some mojoves with a pistol coming home from the beach but the slug stopped in the door of Mikes truck it hit the metal for the door knob instead of me,then after losing my arm I flipped a boat 11 times driving at 75-80 mph Rick Nobles jet boat with no life jacket,was with Rick and Jeff pye in Galveston off shore about 1/2 mile when Rick's boat was hit by a wave and flipped and I had to swim in to west beach at 6:00am,Like I said before I've been blessed,and the Lord has a plan not just for me but for all of us, it's a wonderful life!!!!!! would love to hear from old friends!! High School
My Biggest crush had to be Lisa Martin,then when I met her I turned into mush mouth, Coach Nance was an awesome man and coach he was a big influence on me making varsity football my soph year he motivated me with positive coaching, IF I could do it over I would have stayed in school, I think it's pretty cool that I have stayed close friends with so many people that I grew up with Mark Abramcik, Jeff PYE,Murray Allsbrooks , Brian Bransford, Rick Nobles, Scotty Graves, luiz Garcia, Genaro FREAK Carrillo, LEE Mankins, Gabe Lozano,Curtis Tijerina, JIMMY Carter,John Head, Glen Standifer,Jimmy Hallene, Robert Forgy the Perez brothers and for all you friends even back to freeman that I have lost touch with I remember you well and hope to hear from you . I think we had it pretty good as kids growing up in freeway manor, sun valley, arlington heights ,wilson park and even in the avenues of soho , We lost Mike Allsbrooks in 2006 , Rodney Abramcik a few years ago, Mike Tellez and a few others I sure would like to see or hear from some old friends before my funeral and if I did you wrong please forgive me I did some pretty stupid things back in them there days. dont be so grown up put some pictures out here and tell us about whats been up on your bio's later RR
Workplace
well after quitting school my sophmore year at 16 right after my father was killed in a truck accident I went to work at Don's western wear with Mike Allsbrooks and Willy Glover, got burned out on that after about 6 months SO I started building scaffolds, window washer platforms on downtown buildings, ramps AND stages but mostly worked in chemical plants, we scaffold anything my brother Mike, Genaro, LEE Mankins and Jimmy hallene, Robert forgy, Eddie & gilbert perez were our ground crew, I had to give it up after 8 years OF work when I lost my left arm in the bike wreck but started my own contracting company in 1996. after I crashed I SPENT 2 years of physical rehab, and then raisimg my three kids for 6 years, my son Jake was born right after my wipe out in front of the boys gym on edgebrook ,that fire hydrants still bent, I stayed home with him in a wheel chair for almost the entire year of 88 and when I started walking again some what, Samantha came along in december 89, Summer my first daughter was 6 when I crashed she was born 9 months after THE Prom of 1981, wasn't my prom, I was 17 when I found out she was on the way ,WHAT A BLESSING,and I've been working every since it seems except the 6 wonderful years I was blessed to stay home with the kids, man I have a whole new outlook on stay at home moms, I thought it was tough being in a wheel chair with a 7 year old a 2 year old and a new born but that wasnt anything compared to when they became teenagers , now thats a job, Thank the LORD they are all WAY better kids then I was.
