Life
Where to start?? I joined the USAF in 1980 and after 20 years and too many moves to count, I retired in April of 2000 and settled in White House, Tn. We moved to California in October of 2003, lived in Suisun City, which is about 45 miles north east of San Francisco. In June of 2011 we left California and returned to Cottontown, TN. However, in Dec. of 2016, we bought a little cottage (built in 1898), in Ridgetop, TN, which we call home. I've been married to the same wonderful lady for 41 years and will celebrate our 42nd anniversary this coming October.
We have two children and 5 Grandsons. Aidan, Adler, Nathaniel, Harlan and Ethan. Ages range from 14 to 6. Christina, our daughter, was a USAF Russian linquist, and now is a professional photographer, Aidan and Adler, (two oldest grandsons), are Chrissy's sons. Our son, Michael, is a SFC (E-7), Blackhawk Crew Chief in the Army and stationed at Ft Bliss, Texas. He served tours of duty in Iraq, Korea and Afghanistan. He and his former wife Dani (Danielle), a former Army SPC (E-4), LPN, and a fulltime nursing student, have the 3 youngest boys (Nathaniel, Harlan and Ethan),rounding out our 5 grandsons. Michael is now engaged to a lovely Mexican Lady with 2 children of her own. Yes, I will finally have a granddaughter as well as a nother grandson. Michael will be medically retired from the Army (probably June of this year). Helicopter crash in Afghanistan brought this about. He will leave with 100% disability but more importantly, his life!!
Even though the kids are grown and gone we still hear the pitter-patter of little feet because we have Teela, a Chinese Crested, keeping us company. Bandit, our Olde English Bulldog, sadly passed away December 11th, 2008 (but his memory will be a part of us forever). On a happier note, we adopted Teela from a pet rescue in Dec 28th, of 2008 and she is part of the family. Hard to believe she'll be 15 in October. After retiring from the Air Force and working a couple of different jobs I went to work for the Department of Homeland Security, first, in Nashville, then transferred to the airport in Oakland, Ca.
I left the DHS in 2006 and went to work for the Meyer Corporation in their Marketing Department at our corporate headquarters in Vallejo, Ca. I left Meyer in June of 2011 and was doing the retired thing until February of 2016, when I got my Real Estate License for Tennessee. I started as an Affiliate Broker with Weichert Realtors -,The Andrews Group, in Nashville. In February of 2017, I transferred to Ron Gregory Realty and Auction, Inc, in Goodlettsville (closer to home). In July of 2019, I moved to EXIT Real Estate Solutions in Hendersonville and after Covid arrived from China I decided to retire my license in November of 2020 (gotta love that plandemic). My wife, May, a Registered Nurse, was working for HCA, in their patient transfer center and facilitates, you guessed it, transferring patients between hospitals. After a triple bypass surgery in 2017, she decided to leave hands-on patient care. June of 2019 she received a pacemaker but is doing fine. However, this past September (2021), she medically retired on the advice of our doctor..
In June of 2021, I went to work as a contractor for Piedmont Gas as a Line Technician, fancy name for someone who checks gas meters for leaks and corrosion. Company vehicle and I get to work by myself, not a bad job if I say so myself. In July of 2022, I retired from this job as well. Honey Do's are keeping me busy as well as relearning guitar. Still suck but hey, at least I don't suck as bad...
Yes, I still own and drive my '05 Mustang GT. For the snow I have my '03 King Ranch (gotta love 4x4s). It's good to be back in God's Country (Tennessee). And without a doubt, I'm still a Commando at heart, my blood is still Ford Blue, my favorite college team is UT, and professionally the Titans. Go Vols and TitanUp!!
