Reverend Robert R.'s Story

My parents were carnies until I was almost 11 years old. I was born within 5 minutes of an actual carnival in Mena, Arkansas. As a child, I was around people everyday, so I now have a very open personality, and gift with the public. I was born in January of 1967, so that should give you an idea of how old I am at present.

Being kid to carnie parents meant various things to my development as a human being. Kids develop their personalities and creativities at an early age afterall. I was certainly no different either. Since I usually started school late due to travelling with my parents during carnival season, I frequently had to catch up to the other students in schoolwork. This cramming taught me to learn things rapidly. As an adult now, I have one of the quickest wits you will ever meet. Also, since I was constantly around groups of people, I am not afraid of being in large crowds. This fearlessness has helped me succeed in public speaking, radio, newspaper, theatre, and customer service. In high school, I was an editor of the school newspaper, and was very active in the art, computer, and library clubs. In church, My CYO group made me their local president, then I became...Expand for more
president of the deanery as well. My homelife consisted of Atari 2600, hanging out with Danny Burdess, collecting comic books, and studying computer tech manuals. After high school, I entered Saint Joseph Seminary College in Louisiana to study for the Catholic priesthood. I spent two years there before deciding that perhaps my true calling was elsewhere. I moved back to my family in Arkansas. I was hired at a local radio station as a deejay. Businesses started requesting that I do their advertisements. I was also part timing at the local newspaper during this time, and had two regular weekly columns. My life has taken many twists and turns over the years, but I've now worked in retail service and management for the past dozen years. I've sold and rented everything from videos to music to games. I have won awards in sales and service, so I know what people want in their products and services. 2005 marked my return to entertaining people on stage. WILD CARD COMEDY TROOP - Rusty Coe, Josh Chittick, and yers truly - made our debut at Highlands Little Theatre in Sebring, Florida to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. I also have a website. bobspelledbackwards(dot)com.
