Robert's Story
I was fortunate enough to spend my senior year with the class of 1957, when my Dad moved to Grove City for a one year appointment as the school district's business manager. I found the school and the community to be very open, welcoming and friendly to some kids from the midwest who talked funny. I had some of the best athletic coaching in my brief athletic career from Coaches Forker, Westlake and McCullough. ler, Shirl Hoffman, Eddie Smith, Dave Dunkerley and Joe Foster were 6 of the best basketball players I had an opportunity to play with. Because of Dad's career, I spent three years in Echo where my brothers and were very involved in everything from athletics to band and school plays. After high school and college, I spent 42 years in human resources work adn retired in 2009 to an antique shop, security work and income tax work during the tax season. Because my wife likes to travel, we do spend some time in the Carolinas and Florida.
