Robert's Story
Life
I moved to Cordova Tennessee just outside of Memphis in July of 2012 and both my wife Cathy and I were able to finally retire and enjoy life.... After both of us spent our careers in emergency services which included the fire service for me as Fire Chief and law enforcement for Cathy as a Detective Captain and jointly doing EMS.... Which included doing CISM after 911 for PAPD, NYPD FDNY and various other Emergency Service Units, we felt we saw our share of horror to last a life time..... Unexpectedly in October of 2015 after returning from a vacation in Jackson Hole Wyoming Cathy suddenly passed away...... The philosophy we both shared after our involvement throughout our years in Emergency Services which included both World Trade Center Terrorist attacks is that you can't stop tomorrow because of today..... These are words that we grew to live by as a married couple and now the meaning is ever so more important to me....I
Look forward to each new day and don't look back at the bad or horror that I saw but only look toward the beauty of tomorrow and the day after that.... I am blessed with a few great friends from the North East and some from down here.... And have a few that have transplanted to other areas of the country..... As you journey through life remember
each and every one of you can make a difference to someone.... Take the first step towards tomorrow and don't look back....

n and grandchildren I hope that you have instilled upon them the values that we have been taught by our parents growing up...... those values made us the citizens we are today.... hopefully we can preserve that legacy with our children and grandchildren..... In December 2016 I found that love can once again be enjoyed..... In July 2018 our house was struck by lighting which devastated us both... it’s taken about 10 months to get it rebuilt but our HOME is finally done and we’re back in it..... We are both looking forward to making new memories here... In January 2020 I was made aware of a Cancerous Tumor on my Face which meant surgery for 7.5 hours and 30 radiation treatments...hopefully they got it ALL ...We plan on attending my 50th reunion in October and afterwards spending some time in the area shopping... (FYI the tumor is my souvenir of 9-11)
