Robert's Story
Life
After building my own dead end in banking, I decided to return to school and received my Master's in Psychology from Chico State in the spring of '06. Spent 4+ years interning at a counseling center in Redding. (Africa hot!!) Now back in Chico working with a great group of colleagues developing an FFA and putting in hours at the Butte County Behavioral Health crisis hotline and crisis stabilization unit. Highly satisfying work that will act as my retirement hobbies. My two children, (Daniel, 31 and Alicia, 29), live in Northern Nevada where I spent several years in the S&L industry. Great kids and I hope one day I'll be able to spend more time with them.
My dad passed away in 1994. My mom made 90 and passed away at a nursing home in Chico in February of 2008.

n its ups and downs and I have learned slowly. But I have experienced so much more than a ranch kid from Grenada could reasonably have hoped for.
Still have a dream list - stare up at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel - skydive - tour the cathedrals of Southern France - walk by the Sea of Galilee - and sit in a lounge chair with the love of my life watching the sun set on the Mediterranean, drinking something delightful . . talking and laughing ...
Writing a novel is still somewhere on the list.
School
Proud to be the "It's Never Too Late" poster boy - earned a BA in psychology at Simpson University and then a Master's at Chico State in '06. It was a great opportunity to return to college at that point in life. Best decision I've ever made - - but then again I haven't made a lot of them.
