life is what you make of it! with a little help from the weak-minded politicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
came over in 1967 from northern ireland and settled down in the small city of tulsa, was small with a population of 160,000. went to various schools like grissom, hearst, bates, byrd, skelly, and then the best high school around.....east central!!!!!!!!!! definitely the best compared to hale! probably the most modern high school tulsa had until union came around.
worked at the mcdonald's on garnett, which was a fun place to work with lots of memories of friends made and gone. different back then because all kinds of kids didn't mind working for a fast food joint. had kids from owasso, claremore, catoosa, whatever come to work at the sto...Expand for more
re. like now the area is kind of dangerous and rundown. do miss the bowling alley, where i saw my first video game make it's appearance. think it was space invaders! also remember wizards/quarterhorse arcade. plugged many a quarter every day after school. remember jon rodgers, who ran the place and kept it safe to come to.
left in 1984 to attend o.s.u. and worked yet again at mcdonald's in stillwater and on the turnpike, which i helped open in 1987.
now i work with best buy, enjoy the discount, and opened the tulsa locations and just recently the tulsa hills project by highway 75. never married and don't plan to so that leaves out alot of stress. but would like to see people from that period stop in or reply on the message board.
