Robert Taylor:  

Originally born in Long Beach, CA, 24 Mar 1940. Moved to Santa Ana when about 6 months old after Dad got a job with Southern Counties Gas Co, which became The Gas Co. Lived on S. Maple until 1943, then moved to 811 Kilson Dr after Dad bought the house. Went to Roosevelt Elementary, Lathrop JH and SAHS. Went to SAJC for a year, did really poorly, so joined the Navy 16 Sep 1959. Became an Aviation Electronics Tech (Radar) after training in Millington, TN (by Memphis) 1960. Spent my Navy career at NAS North Island with VS-41, flying back-seat in Grumman S2F Trackers. Married Gayla Schwein 30 Jun 1962; 2 sons (Loren and Brian), divorced in 1987. Moved to Ventura County in 1963 after being discharged from the Navy, went to work for Civil Service in 1966 at Point Mugu, then Port Hueneme. Majority of my Civil Service career was spent riding Navy ships and training sailors how to use their combat system equipment.
