Robert's Story

Life I reside in a residential house in the Pasadena, Texas area. I am currently (5/2005) separated with a pending divorce but am looking for someone else to share my life with. I have two (2) kids of my own and two (2) step kids. I am a grandpa to two (2) grandsons and a granddaughter. All of my kids are in their mid to late twenties. My grandkids are nine (9), a year and a half (1 1/2) and eleven (11) months old. I dance a little with particular emphasis on square dancing and clogging. I have interest in outdoorsy stuff with fishing, camping, and hiking as well as traveling. I own property on Lake Livingston (no structures) in Onalaska, Texas. I am planning to erect a residential structure in the future to have a getaway, "out of dodge" (Houston) to go to when I want to get out of the hum drum of Houston. I enjoy all types of previous year music ('40's to '70's) with particular interest in music from the early '50's and early '60's era as well as real, genuine, classic country music from that era. I know two (2) classic country music DJs who play that style of era music. I visit them occasionally. School Attended Genoa, Garfield, and A.B. Freeman Elementary from 1957 through 1961, Pasadena area, South Houston Intermediate, South Houston area, from 1961 through 1964, and, of course, South Houston High School, Pasadena area, from 1965 through 1968, with graduating from South Houston in 1968. I was involved with The Art Club, The Folk Music Club, and the Astronomy Club. I had many favorite teachers, but, I suppose, my favorite teacher was my English teacher, Mrs. Lee. We had a great friendship throughout my high school years. I loved being with all my friends in high school and had my crushes on many girls during my school term. However, after being out ...Expand for more
of school now with the responsibilities that go along with being out on my own, I wished I was still attending school. During my school term, somehow I could not wait to graduate and be on my own. However, I soon realize that graduating and being responsible for me and my family was not easy. I feel assured many who read my profile feel the same. College Entered San Jacinto Jr. College in 1973. My last year was in 1991 and sporadically took courses involving drafting and design. I am going to complete my schooling to receive my AA degree soon. San Jacinto was the only college I attended. I was employed during the day whereas I attended college during the weekday evenings. Workplace Been in the engineering business since 1974 and have approximately thirty two (32) years in this business. I am employed at BEI Engineers, in Pasadena, Texas, and have been “farmed out” (sent to) Kinder Morgan, a petrochemical company, in Galena Park, Texas. I have been employed with petrochemical companies, around the Houston area, since 1974. Military Entered into the United States Air Force in 1969 and honorably discharged in 1973. My specialty was loading cargo on military aircraft (all assigned air bases) as well as loading personal baggage on commercial flights in Vietnam. Besides my military training in San Antonio and Wichita Fall, Texas, I spent one (1) year at Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam, one (1) year at Travis Air Base in Fairfield, California, and two (2) years at Altus Air Base, Altus, Oklahoma. I went to Hong Kong on my R&R when assigned to Vietnam. I was very fortunate as I was not directly involved with the Viet Cong. I suppose I supported the troops in getting them to their assigned location in Vietnam. I enjoyed my tour but am reluctant in returning.
