Bob "Willy"'s Story
Been retired from Kodak since 1991. Live in Clarkson NY about 5 miles from Hilton. For 30 years my wife & I have been involved in the Hilton schools music programs. Music is a constant in our life. Our family is involved in a marching band called Generations. All members played in other bands but came together for this one so they could perform with their kids. Or in our case kids & grandkids. I'm the videographer & I actually march in the street with them backwards. I've logged over 200 parades since I began in 1983. Still love sports. Played softball until 50 then did some coaching but only womens teams. They listen, are better athletes & don't let their egos stand in the way of learning. One of the most rewarding things I've done is during the 1990s I was videographer for the Vietnam Veterans of our area. I documented the 10th anniversary of the Wall , the Dedication of the Womens Vietnam Memorial in Wash DC,& groundbreaking, building & Dedication of Rochesters V...Expand for more
ietnam Memorial in Highland Park. These vets were the most abused soldiers in american history but still possess the most undying love for their country. We should respect all veterans no matter how we feel about the wars.
It's hard to believe we're in the second decade of the 2000s. Where has the time gone? I still have family in Charlotte & go down there often. Got to have my Frozen Custard at Abbotts & my Ground Round with everything on it at Schallers. Am on our Class of 1957 Reunion Committee so am in touch most of the time or at least every five years with my classmates.. CHS will always remain a great time in my life. If you can ever get back in for a tour do it. What fabulous memorys will return as you walk the halls again. I recall a few years ago standing on the stage & looking up at all the empty seats & remembering when they were all full & every eye was on me. What a rush. Gosh I loved performing in the assemblys. It seemed like every week I stood there.
