Robert's Story
I vividly remember being on Vigor’s High School Bowl team in 1970. High School Bowl was a local TV show that showcased two two area high school teams in an academic challenge based on a general knowledge of history, geography and science. There were 4 guys on the team. The academic sponsors both women for some reason did not choose any girls to be on the team. Vigor was the only high school asked by the TV station to participate in 4 contests. The greatest challenge most weeks was the simple act of getting off campus. The school was on lockdown and all movement was tightly controlled and monitored. Getting a hall pass to get to my car and getting a car pass to leave the campus was intentionally difficult. The situation taught me the values of persistence, of planning and of deviousness.

ked on the Tenn Tom Waterway. From Corinth we moved to Ferron Utah where I worked for the US Forest Service. In 1979, we moved to Tuscaloosa AL where I worked for the US Bureau of Land Mgmt.(BLM). After Tuscaloosa, we moved to Washington, DC where I worked as a geologist in the BLM hazmat mgmt program. We lived on the Chesapeake Bay and enjoyed the water. Our son came along then too. I got restless again and we moved to Reno NV where I managed BLMs state hazmat program. And out of the blue, our daughter was born. After a clash with the Mafia, I had to move and we ended up back in Washington DC. In DC, I managed the Department of the Interiors National hazmat mgmt. program. I created the Departments Central Hazmat Fund to handle massive national priority level cleanups. Unfortunately an accident at work damaged my lungs and I was forced to move to Pensacola. At that point I retired. I volunteer for archeology projects, hunt for pirate/Nazi gold and write poetry.
