Robert's Story
After 2 of the most fantastic years of my life at Ramey AFB, I returned to Kansas and attended the University of Kansas. Since that time, I have been married twice, both great partners, and have 2 phenom children by my first marriage, Julie (1970) and Matthew (1972). I have had a fast pace, all out life with many career challenges, for the most part very enjoyable and worthwhile. I currently reside in Destin, Florida, and have been in the Florida panhandle for more than 25+ years. Recently, I have been making a major push in locating students, friends, faculty and families who where stationed at Ramey AFB, and experienced the Ramey High School system. I have been making a diligent effort to find and bring everyone together, to revisit the good times and grand memories of Ramey, and to encourage communications and present day activities such as Reunions.
The task of locating "Rameyites" after 40 years is difficult and yet, extremely rewarding. I have had an absolute blast, finding my friends and classmates from 40 years ago. The results are like putting your mind into a time machine and the memories of Ramey High School and the "Rock", just come alive. Every person you find or communicate with from Ramey, brings forth vivid thoughts and pleasant memories from long ago. There are some definite down sides to the location process. Finding of friends that really don't want to be found, or have little desire to participate in any Alumni activities, as well as finding those who say they will become involved and never do, but the saddess part of all is, to find out that a classmate's life journey has ended.
Since early May, 2008, I have been able to locate 275+ Rameyites and the numbers are steadily growing. I have put out 5-6000 Emails in searching for Ramey High Alumnus. I have become quite a pest, to some in my recruitment process of Rameyites. I do apologize for my tenacious recruiting methods. The location process would be much easier if people would read their emails posted to them on this site as well as review their bulletin and message boards including the event announcements posted on this site. Knowing that only Gold members have access to the enhanced features of this site, I am amazed what a relative few utilize the features of this site.
Most of us have ventured down different paths, separated by time and life events, we all have our priorities. It is my goal to find as many Rameyites as possible with some commonality, that have bonded in the past, would be eager to rekindle past friendships and inspire them to come together for friendly communications as well as occasional participation in Alumnu...Expand for more

The Ramey High School Class of 1968 is the Host Class for an "All Classes" Reunion in Destin, Florida, in October 2009. I am the Reunion Coordinator for this event. As of Dec. 2008, we have 110 Rameyites submit their written "expression of interest" to attend this event. This number will expand and we expect to have the biggest turnout for any Ramey High Reunion to date. I will continue my Rameyite location efforts as I look forward to the Reunion and seeing in person, those who were a wonderful part of my life, so long ago.
Update on the Ramey High School DESTINation 2009 Reunion "ALLCLASSBLAST". As of January 23, 2009 we have received "Expressions of Interest" to attend from 124 RHS Classmates along with 76 guests. The potential attendees list keeps growing everyday. We are looking forward to the most incredible Ramey High Reunion ever. The thought of seeing and interfacing with classmates from long ago is very exciting as well as with a degree of mystery and intrigue thrown in. This gathering will certainly be enjoyable and thrilling to say the least.
Latest update on the Destin "All Classes" Reunion, as of Feb. 22nd, we have 150 classmates that have submitted an "Expression of Interest", along with 96 additional spouse/guest indications. Our location of Rameyites and contact list has grown to over 475+ Ramey High School people.
I have been a little lax on reunion updates as planning and coordinating has become a full time affair, but for the record the RHS "All Class Blast" 2009 has taken place with fantastic results. We took over Destin Florida for 5 days and had the most fantastic reunion imaginable. Over 250 Rameyites showed up to have the absolute best time. It was truly the greatest walk down memory lane with many classmates which most haven't seen each other in over 40 years. The reunion was completely documented with over 14 hours of film footage and over 2000 photos of the Rameyites, done by a professional media group. All feedback has been extremely positive and everyone has reported back with "It was the Best Time of my Life". Kudoos to all that attended. The next reunion is being planned for March of 2011 at Ramey, Puerto Rico, check Classreport.org for details. If anyone reading this has a class reunion coming up, I highly reccomend the Sandestin Hilton in Destin Florida as a perfect venue.
