Robert's Story
After 3 years of college, Joined the US Navy. Traveled to 20 countries during the 4 years I served. Got married for the second time in 1984 and have lived with her for the past 32 years. Started working at Stoneport (Presque Isle Corp/ Lafarge limestone quarry) in 1975 and retired 34 years later in 2008. Rented in Alpena during the week and home only on weekends for 24 of those years. 'Been fulltime at home now for 8 years. Busy with church activities, church treasury, play and preach and do other computer work for my wife who has been church pastor for over 14 years. e 10 miles south of Cheboygan. I also help with our local food pantry and our church's used clothing giveaway eight times a year. I play piano for church, type worship bulletins and keep track about 10,000 files on my computer. I am not nearly as bashful as I was voted in high school. However I still only have a few friends. Guess we are too busy. We have traveled out of state 6 times for my sibling reunions in the last 8. Oh yeah, my wife has 8 grandchildren, all live within 10 miles of us. Ages range from 1 year to 20 years old. Being a step-dad, it is hard to think that they are mine too. But I treat them like they are.
