Roberta's Story

Life Today, I'm married for the 4th and FINAL time. I met the man who is now my husband when I lived in Columbus, Ohio a few years ago. We've been married 15 years now. I have 2 sons with my first husband, and he has 2 daughters with his first wife. That's all the kids there are between us. I actually attended several schools as I was growing up and hope to hear from friends from ALL of them. I started with Morgan Twp for 1-6th grade (class of 1974); then moved away just before summer vacation. After my mom died that summer; I was put back into 6th grade at Central Elementary in 1968-1969. Then I moved on to Westchester Jr. Hi for 7th grade (that's why I claim CHS as one of my high schools!). After school was out in 1970, I moved to Shults-Lewis; I returned to Morgan for 8th grade and 1/2 of my freshman year. It was in January of 1972 when I moved to Knightstown, Indiana to attend Morton Memorial until I graduated in 1975. I spent a good deal of time at my grandparent's home in Valpo (corner of Institute & Valparaiso streets) and had also made lots of friends there, so I want to hear from anyone who remembers me. I would especially like to hear from my friends from Morgan. ...Expand for more
I spent so many years with each of you and since I moved away so young, I have missed you all. I've achieved my Associate's Degree in Therapeutic Massage & Bodyworks and now live in Burns Harbor, Indiana, and work at home as a massage therapist. I absolutely love my new career coz I get to help people feel better body, spirit and mind. I've had clients come to me barely able to walk into the massage room and leave with an absolute bounce in their steps 1/2 hour to an hour later! How cool is that? If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my bathrooms & kitchen and add on a larger deck & sun room. My dream home would be deep in the woods!. My first job was at Enchanted Forest (now Splash Down Dunes which is closed!), where I got paid $1.80 to hand out tickets for the SkeeBall winners. What I remember most about it is it was one of the few indoor jobs at the park & I was wanting to work OUTSIDE!. I made a friend that summer that I'm still friends with today. Steven Berger helped me get to and from work that summer coz I didn't drive at that time or have a car of my own. He was also a good friend and I had a great time going to movies and shopping and just hanging out with him.
