Life After high school, I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do with my life, so I fell back on a few of my extra courses in high school (typing, shorthand, which I planned to use in my college days, if I only knew what I wanted to go to college for) and went to work for Northwestern Mutual as a secretary. Even though I was raised in the church, I had never given my life to God, until the age of 19 when one night at a concert, I heard for the first time that even if I was the only one on this earth, Jesus would have still died for me because God loved me that much (He loves each of you that much too!). Even though I came from a loving family, I was starving for this type of love because it meant I was someone - someone that God loved and cared about that much. That night I asked God to forgive me of all I had done wrong and asked Jesus to come into my heart and become Lord of my life. My life has never been the same since!!! I would not trade it for anything this world has to offer. I began to get involved in a ministry of sharing Jesus with other young people through Lay Witness Missions in the United Methodist Church. I read my Bible relentlessly and truly sought God's calling for my life. God called me to go back to school and earn my degree. I attended Otterbein College in Westerville, OH, for two years before transferring back to WVU. I earned a B.A. in Psychology, WVU, 1979 and a M.A. Guidance and Counseling, WVU, 1981.
