Roberta's Story
Life
Married, 3 kids, Shawn 33, Ryan 27, Neisha 16. Living in Dorchester, just east of London Ontario. Was looking forward to moving back Uxbridge area in about 4 years but, a new grandchild on the way may change our plans. Parents are still living in beautiful downtown Zephyr. College
When i attended George Brown college for my commercial art degree, i had to travel 2 1/2 hours by ttc in rush hour with a HUGE 3ft x 4ft portfolio every morning and night. The teachers were great though, and I had the time of my life.
I later went to Durham college for my ECE but it was much easier because i had a car. A...Expand for more
gain, was a fun time with great teachers. Never got the experience of living on campus,,,although there were days that it felt like i was there more than i was home.
Workplace
After sitting at a machine making album covers, I decided it was time to go back to school. After attaining my Commercial art degree, I worked for Southam business publications. We moved to a farm in Stouffville and I had to quit and become a full-time farmer for 6 years. We eventually moved to Uxbridge were I decided to go to Durham college and get my ECE degree. I worked in a couple of daycares after that and then ran a home based daycare and became foster parents. Since our move to London Ontario, I have ran a home based business in balloon bouquets & decorating.
