Robin's Story
Life
Hello I was Robin Akers in high school. I married my b/f from Norhtview high school in June of '88 and had a baby in December of '88. That marriage didn't last very long, only two years. I moved back in with my mom and didn't get remarried for many years. I met my current husband when he came to Terre Haute to go to college. We lived together for 5 years before deciding to have a baby and get married. I was married for the second time in July of '95 and had my (2nd child) in October of '95. Then we finally got a house of our own and things were going well for us until hubby had his car wreck. He was on his way to work at Hawthorne Park (he took care of the pioneer village) when he was T-Boned. He was seriously...Expand for more
hurt and they didn't know if he would survive through the night. He did and had extensive physical therapy. A year and a half later the federal gov. decided he was disabled. Then we found out I was pregnant for the third time. This time I had another girl. Then my ex decided he wanted custody of my oldest in the fall of '02. We went through a very difficult custody battle and in the end he won custody. She has been with him since. Shortly after we were loosing our house so we decided to make the move to Indianapolis. Hubby has family here. I am now doing much better and working at Ben Davis High School as the Catering Assistant.
