Robin's Story
Life
Well, high school graduation was a couple of years ago, so I can't talk about the kids yet. I have been majoring in elementary education at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri since 2003. I absolutely love my school and the people that go there with me,and I love being independent but so dependent on God at the same time. In other news, I am a newlywed. I just got married on May 19, 2007, and I absolutely adore my husband! And I will finally graduate this year..yeah! God is really blessing me. He is so good!
School
Ocean Springs High School in Ocean Springs, MS was my high school. It, of course, had its flaws, but I loved my high school. I loved the people, and I had some really great teachers. I was the choir queen. Choir secretary my junior year, choir president my senior year, voted Miss Choir senior year, and I did after school ensembles all four years. Needless to say, choir (and my job) consumed my life. OSHS was a great place to go to high school because of Mr. Hirsch, the principal. He was always finding ways for us to have fun and get out of class. We also found out what school spirit is like. Pep rallies actually became fun, and people got involved in decorating the school for Homecoming Week. I wouldn't trade my high school for anything.
College
My school (Baptist Bible College) is perfect for me. It's very small and personal. It has about 700 ...Expand for more
students. I realize that we don't do a lot of things like big universities, but I prefer it that way. The school teaches the Word of God, and they train us for future ministries. I am 100% confident that this is where God has placed me at this time in my life.
Workplace
Well, I first worked at Heavenly Ham during the end of my sophomore year and beginning of junior year. I hated it. Absolutely loathed it. I could never do a good enough job in my manager's eyes. Then I quit there and moved to Eckerd Pharmacy my senior year. It was a great job, and I went back the summer after my freshman year to work there again. It was stressful and customers could be rude, but that comes with the territory. Then, I worked at Hobby Lobby my freshman and sophomore year in college. I started out as a cashier, and then I was moved to the fabric department. I basically threw a fit, but I ended up loving my job even more when I got moved to that department. The people I worked with were so fun and amazing, and the customers (for the most part) were a lot nicer than the Eckerd customers. Then I worked as the faculty secretary at my school, which was such a great job. Because I'm student teaching in the fall, I can't work there anymore because there's only one secretary that works in the afternoon, and I'll be out in the classroom for 12 weeks. I am now working in recruiting for my school, and I love it.
