Robin's Story
Life
First married in 1972 in Corvallis, divorced in 1995. Remarried in 1996 in Florida. 2 children, both college educated and doing well. Me... I still haven't compelted a degree; goal is to do it before I'm 60 so I won't embarass my kids.
I work for a Rural County as their E-911 Coordinator. It's the job that was made for me. I coordinate the 911 system which requires synchronizing a lot of databases and that's what I love to do. I do all the addressing for the County and am also the 911 GIS person.
FOR SALE!!!! $350,000 OR A GOOD OFFER!!!! have 20 acres in a rural County north of where I work but it's only about 12 miles to work and most of it is cattle and orange groves. Very relaxing drive to and from work. Our 20 acres iis partly old Florida wet lands which has cypress trees so big that 3 people can't hold hands around them. Acres and Acres of natural ferns and air plants. Also, alligators, otters, racoons, possums, wild turkey. And occassionally a bear or very small dear and if we are very luck to see it we have a resident Florida Panther.
PIckup trucks, and 4 wheelers are a must. The neighbors all have swamp buggies and we have an airboat. Why are we moving out of the State? Part of my responsibility as 911 Coordinator is to approve the street names and addresses of all new subdivisions. I know that within my lifetime my rural a...Expand for more
rea may be Condos, golf courses and way too many homes. I don't like neighbors or listening to traffic so it's time to move on. I love Corvallis and my husband has enjoyed visiting the Willamette Valley so I imagine we won't be very far away from my Brother Randy Knight and his 2 sons and their families in Corvallis.
My husband has been a machinist and welder for over 30 years and has enjoyed owning his own business. He has built and perfected several line boring machines and continues to do portable line boring. He can take this trade anywhere.
We are both hoping to take it easy for a couple of years and spend time with Grandchildren and aging parents. I lost my Mom Apirl 2009 in Philomath, OR. Have guardianship of younger brother, Ronnie. Ronnie is one of God's special children and he is living in a beautiful, loving group home in Corvallis out by Lewisburg. I feel the need to be closer to him since Mom's passing.
I regret not making the last reunion. Unfortunately the reunion was scheduled during Hurricane season and I also work under Emergency Management and oversee the hotlines when the Emergency Operations Center activates. It's real hard to get a vacation during hurricane season.
I would love to hear from some of the old classmates. Especially the ones that use to pile in my car and head to Taco Bell. Funny, I still love Taco Bell!
