Robin's Story
Life
I have retired from teaching Physical Education in Portsmouth City Schools after 33years. I miss the kids, but see my previous students everywhere. My heart school has been torn down but my fondest memories of teaching are still there. I am raising the son of one of my students who was like a son to me. Chris just turned 12 and I am learning how to raise a Grandson after raising two girls (quite different!!). My girls are both in the teaching profession. The oldest, Day, is in Suffolk, VA. in Special Ed. and the youngest, Leigh, is married and lives not too far away and is a Physical Education Teacher. My youngest delivered my beautiful granddaugter March 20th,2008. My husband is also retired and after traveling for his entire professional life (Capt. in Merchant Marines) is not too keen on traveling. establish myself with with friends that are retired because I am not free to go whenever because I have Chris and babysit Cassidy. I would not give that up for anything, I throughly enjoy having them(although I am sure there are times Chris would rather otherwise). He is an Honors student and a math whiz. I told Chris that he will be changing some interesting diapers for Cassidy Nicole. Still amazed to be a grandmother! I just had my 40th class reunion this past year and it was great! So nice to see everyone again! I geocache, do stained glass, collect vintage rhinestone and Mexican silver jewelry, and sell items on Ebay. (I sell for a consignor and just sold a parachute with the auxillary and jumpsuit that weighed about 50 lbs altogether). I am learning lots of interesting things. Memories of special people stay with me and I enjoy being able to keep in touch through classmtes and other venues.
