Robyn's Story
I came from a family of 6,3 sisters & 2 brothers, We Lived on Dorchester Ave, Myself and my youngest sister went to this school. I went there from 2nd grade to 6th, my youngest sisiter only stayed til 3rd grade. Everyone else in my family went to the Mary Hemingway. Mrs Gallagher ( I think was her name) was the sewing teacher she would walk us to the Mary Hemingway for sewing, she made us pick the trash on the way for newspapers (even in the rain) I hated that..Her and I would argue all the way there because most of the time I would refuse to carry them. I got the rat hand many of times because of her. In the 6th grade I put a tack on her seat and she sat on it, no one said who did but she knew it was me she just couldn't prove it, no rat hand this time HaHa. tragically. His sister Cheryl was one of best friends in school, I loved going to her house so I could see her Brother. It took nearly 1 year before I would even talk to him, but then we were inseparatable til his death.. but all in all it was a great school to go to. I continued my education, got my diploma, did nursing school, worked in Boston until my first child was born. my 1st husband & I moved to Braintree, til my divorce. I then moved back to Dorchester for a short time then to Cape Cod, Where I meet my present husband, between us we raised 4 children . When our youngest was in 8th grade we moved to Wachusett Mountain area, We moved there to help my brother and his wife with their triplets. I went back to school became an EMT & a Firefighter here. We Love the mountain. We now have 5 beautiful grandchildren .
