Rodney's Story
Life
Graduated High School in 1977, joined the United States Marine Corps shortly there after. Spent 15 years doing various duties, now a Police Sergeant with the Dept of the Army Civilian Police in Brooklyn NY.
Workplace
Upon being Honorably Discharged from the Marines I joined the Old Dominion University Dept of Public Safety as a Police Officer. I attended the Norfolk Police Academy for 21 weeks to become State certified. This was a very rewarding job providing law enforcement service to the campus community and to the surrounding community. I was an active member of the Uniform Bicycle Patrol Unit, Field Training Instructor and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997. I relocated to the west coast in 2001. ded security services to the people who worked for the county. I was assigned working at the County Jail. Tent City for Sheriff Joe. Then I moved back to NY and where I am now with the DOD.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Mr Leroy Riskey, because he belived in me and kept me on the right track at East Harlem Childrens Center.
I've learned over the years that children really do need their parents in their lives each and every day. It does make a difference in growing up and being able to deal with issued that you may face as one gets older.
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to the East Harlem Childrens Center, then spend the rest on building my own childrens center, pay off some outstanding bills and take a nice vaction with family members somewhere really nice..
