Roger's Story

Life Let's see, I'm a single dad who's love's of my life are my 12 year-old daughter Alex who lives with me and Ashley my 27 year-old who's blessed me with 3 grandkids! I've had my own accounting & tax business for 20 years intermixed with working at 5 CPA firms. I love my job so much that I can't imagine doing anything else ever again. I go boating and ride my quad on the weekends with close friends which keeps me busy. Lastly, I absolutely love getting older every year as life keeps getting better and better. How's your life? Roger (425) 327-4016. School Wow, just to think back on high school....I can summarize it all up by saying I wouldn't have changed a thing. I had a great time in school. Hopefully I wasn't a jerk to anyone and if I was I'm sorry. Ok, I'm sorry to Renee and Mary Ellen for copying your Physics homework every other day (or was it daily?). As far as teachers that inspired me the most I'd have to say I have a 2-way tie between Mr. Ibea and Mr. Kloke. They were both very demanding and extremely smart. The teacher that inspired me the "least" was Mr. Ewing. When he intentionally hit Larry Buell during baseball batting practice that said it all. Now, the craziest moments I remember both happened on Halloween night our Junior and Senior year. On Halloween our Junior year a bunch of us decorated an old house up by Louie Fitzgerald's Farm and took some girls up there that night. We told a story about how someone had been murdered there a long time ago and that they never found the severed head. So, having previously fixed up my mom's wig and head stand with ketchup, we t...Expand for more
hrew open the door and watched Cal Hoge turn stone white and Patty Kanekeberg fall on the ground with fright! ha ha The egg farm night our senior year was something to go down in history though. Greg Farley and Brad Townsell worked at the egg farm at Smokey Point and they arranged for us to "borrow" 500 dozen (yes, that's 6,000) eggs. So, after loading our cars with whatever we could hold we took off to Everett where we egged Cascade and Everett High Schools. Then, we turned east and egged Snohomish High School, too! We also egged every single car going back home just to get rid of them all!!! ha ha The only thing I can remember that happened to anyone was someone egged Griffith's house and Mr. Griffith took after them and caught them. Bummer. How about your times? Roger Workplace Holy cow has life changed since working at Al's Auto Supply the summer before my senior year! (for all you new people that'd be summer of '79) Let's see, I've been a sheetmetal shop clean-up guy, a firewood cutter, a gas station attendant, a fireplace installer, a sheetmetal worker apprentice, a tutor, a bookkeeper, an office manager, an accountant, a trainer, and a business owner. (which is the last job I'll ever have again) I've had my business (corner of Cedar & Grove) for 20 years in Marysville and will never ever work for anyone else again! Ever! I absolutely love my job and "actually" look forward to work every single day of the year. Seriously, after learning several very hard life lessons I'm trying to live life to the fullest and loving my work is a major part of that. See you next tax season! Roger
