Roger's Story
Life
After high school, I served on a Nuclear-Sub from 1970 to 1973, then a short stint on a Supply Ship in the Mediterranean Sea. Married the first time in 1971, Divorced in 1978, had one son, Erin Thomas (etc) and now have two beautiful granddaughters Rebecca 17, Erica 16 who all live nearby. Graduated from the University of GA, BS in Ag-Engineering 1985 still living in the Athens, GA area and have been working for the US Environmental Protection Agency here since 1983. I worked in research with the EPA for several years while in school, then started with the Regional Office in Atlanta after graduation. Although I really enjoy doing research, the position I have now allows me to travel more and be outside a whole lot. I travel within the southeastern eight states of Kentucky, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia and mostly Florida. I remarried in 1997 to Denise Dickey and am now (May, 2010) divorced again. I have two additional sons, Zack 15 at the end of May (I adopted him when he was 3 with her permission) and then we had Cody, who will be 12 in June. I have been fortunate enough to have seen a lot of the world and most of the United States. Hope...Expand for more
to see the rest of the US before too much longer. I brought my then wife and boys to visit Borger back in the Summer of '05. They all found it so different than the east coast but really enjoyed seeing Texas and the trip. I really enjoyed the 40th reunion and seeing all the "snobs" and the "unsnobs". It truly was a wonderful few days. I am looking forward to the 45th Reunion and hope so many others will attend. To all of you who read this far, remember that we have all came from an assortment of backgrounds, we all have had our own life challenges since high school, none of us were perfect then nor are any of us perfect now. Our lives in Borger laid our foundation of who we would become. Change is an inevitable part of growth. If you think for one moment you think none of us have changed I am here to tell you, the people who attended and the stories shared while at the 40th Reunion were heart felt and spoke so fondly of all of us who were the Class of '69. I extend to all of you, an invitation to the 45th and I hope you will attend. I personally would like to see all of us who are still living attend and would be extremely honored to greet and meet each and everyone of you there.
