Roger's Story
Life
I have served in the military now for 18 years after graduating from Cal State Sacramento in 1989. Some of the ships I've served on include: USS John F Kennedy(CV 67), USS Cowpens(CG 63), USS Mobile Bay(CG 53), USS Cardinal (MHC 60), USS Pelican (MHC 60), and USS Essex (LHD 2). After leaving Sacramento, I lived in Hawaii for 6 years and Japan for 4 years. I've also been stationed in Rhode Island, Florida, San Diego, Bahrain, and Texas. I've been able to vi...Expand for more
sit many places serving in the Navy: Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, India, Korea, Russia, Guam, Bahrain, Dubai, Greece, Turkey, and Spain. Choosing the military as a career has been a good decision for me. I enjoyed my time in the Naval Reserve, Hawaii Army National Guard, and the U.S. Navy (active duty). I look forward to continuing my service in the military until 2019. Perhaps I will return to the Army National Guard one day to finish my career.
