Roger's Story
Life
After high school, I went to U of I to major in electrical engineering. I picked up aviation as "minor" and earned my commercial and flight instructor pilot ratings. During this time, I became disenchanted with electrons and switched to civil engineering, with an emphasis on transportation facilities (i.e., airports). This was also the timeframe in which I met Julie, whom I married a few years later...so it was truly a time when destiny manifested itself!
After college, I took a job with the Ill. Dept. of Trans., Div. of Aeronautics in Springfield for 13 years. In 2004, I went into ...Expand for more
the private sector with Crawford, Murphy & Tilly -- an engineering consultant. I currently do airport planning work.
Julie and I were married in '91. Our relationship is great and we have started a family. Our son is now 10, our oldest daughter is 6, and our youngest girl is 3.
Competing in canoeing and kayaking has taken a back seat to life's other priorities, but I still get out on the water every now in then. Our family has gotten into a recreational biking and do participate in a number of school and church activities.
Basically, life here on this end of the keyboard is good!
