Life
Roger S Hollister P.E., D.D.S.
Dr. Hollister joined Hughes Electron Dynamics Division in 1972 initially as a member of the technical staff after 3-years of active duty as an unrestricted line officer in the United States Navy. Until he left to pursue a dental degree in 1979, he was engaged in the design, mathematical analysis and environmental testing of Travelling Wave Tube (TWT) circuits and packages to aircraft and spacecraft standards.
Dr. Hollister returned in the fall of 1985 after being in private dental practice and on the faculty at Oklahoma University College of Dentistry. Since this time, he has been a principal investigator-using in the thermal and structural design of numerous improvements of TWT's. ent of the package concept for the low birefringence ILA light valve at HJVC and the design development of the 25cm XIPS thruster for application on the HS702 have been the responsibility of Dr. Hollister.
Dr. Hollister is also a volunteer clinical instructor in restorative dentistry at the University of Southern California's College of Dentistry. This continues a career of academic dental involvement begun at graduation and clinical dentistry through a small private practice in Oklahoma.
Active in the Naval Reserve since graduation from dental school he was recalled to active duty during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm and served 198 days overseas as the Dental Officer for Naval Mobil Construction Battalion 23 of Ft Belvior Virginia.
Roger Hollister is divorced with two children; Kristin (21 a Flight Attendant Southwest Airlines) and Preston (19 a student at El Camino Junior College).
