Roger's Story

Life I spent over 40 years working with communications systems, rockets, satellites, and their respective ground support systems. In my spare time, I design and build a new house about every five years. I recently completed the design of another one for an airfield development near Cedar Key, Fl. The construction should be completed by the end March 2008. I have five lovely grandchildren whom I try to spend some quality time with. I've been fortunate to have traveled and lived in Asia and Europe, plus all accross the U.S. I'm moving from Rockledge, Fl. to Rosewood, Fl. in Mar. 2008. I try to spend some of my summers in Gassaway and Selbyville, WVa. I still enjoy traveling for work and fun. I did a windjammer cruise from Granada to Venezuella. It's a fun way to travel. Would highly recommend it. Enjoyed a week of wandering around Belize the first part of 2005. In 2006, I spent two weeks in Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, what a memorable trip. I liked it so much, I went back for three weeks in Oct. 2007 with the Global Volunteers to work at Camp Hope, a school for disadvantaged children, plus spent a week touring the highlands with another couple from Calif. I did a reunion trip to Antigua and Ascension Island in 2007. It was good to see many folks that us...Expand for more
ed to work for me. In 2008 we moved to our new home on Cedars Airfield and got to spend two weeks in Europe sightseeing and visiting with friends. We first visted the UK, Stonehenge, London, staying with friends I met on Ascension Island, then went on to Amsterdam to visit the VanGoeh Museum for a couple days, and finally on to Solingen, Germany to stay with friends and visit the surrounding area. In 2009 we spent two weeks in Peru and Bolivia visiting Lima, Lake Titicaca, Nazca Lines, Machu Pichu, Moon Valley, La Paz, and Tiawanaca. Very beautiful! In 2012 I went to BFREE research center in Belize in the Spring, then to South Africa for some safari adventures and up to Victoria Falls in Zambia. In November I spent a week in Cuba on a People to People Program. In 2013 we toured the Northeast with an 11 yr old grandson visiting friends and relatives all the way up to the Bay of Fundy in Canada, stopping by Mt Washington, Cabot cheese factory, & Ben & Jerry's ice cream factory during the month of June. In Sept. we spent the month driving around New Zealand with friends from Cedar Key. Since then I've been to Cuba twice and recently spent a month in Cambodia and Vietnam. Went back and visited the Islands I used to live on in the South China Sea. Have a great day.

Whitehorse to Dawson journey.
Beautiful scenes along the way to Dawson.
Poor bird that didn't make it.
Our train in Skagway like the one we took to Whitehorse.
The roadway in the distance and our train track coming around the mountain on the left.
A roadway across the valley from our train.
Getting ready to go through the mountain.

Aurora Inn were we are staying.
Another Inn across the street from us. Note the huge mountain slide down the street.
