Roger's Story

Life's Report After having been married for 35 years and having raised 3 fine children in a nice neighborhood I find it hard to feel sorry for myself for the tough times I have gone thru in the last decade and a half. HEart trouble, back trouble, colon disection, anal(I'd call it somethin' different) problems, being relieved of my job of 22 years, and finally a nice severe stroke which halfway butchered this once "brilliant" mind would put many a man down. If it had not been for my accomplishments and the raising of my children I would be forced to rot in this home. I did rot for many months, however spring is like a reawakening for the mind and spirit. Military I had basic at Ft. Jackson and hated every minute of it. I took AIT at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in Indy. I was stationed at Ft. Campbell, and then on to Augsburg and the 105th. I loved my ...Expand for more
time in Germany and was very happy not to be a grunt. I met some great people there I will never forget. Childhood Going swimming at seven hills swim club and when the snows came having many a hill to sled down. The pool once froze so hard we played hockey on it for 3 days till the ice started moving. We had many pucks in the 11 feet I'm sure that were recovered that spring for we weren't dumb enough to go out there and retrieve them. Childhood heroes. Popeye, Zorro, Robin Hood, The Rifleman, and Tarzan. Quite a crew who all fought for the rights of common man over authority. Used to be able to do a great "Tarzan" yell off the high board till my voice changed!! I would like to be remembered as "Roger" What teacher would I like to see again? Simple, Mrs. Zeigler of those days. Had all this "boy" was looking for. Right down to her freckles.
