After graduation, got caught in a dead end sales job with no future. Spent about 10 years in the business (I call them the lost years - dead end relationships - felt I was being used, etc.) and decided I wanted to finally break away. Moved to the Ft.Smith, AR area, got a job as a representative for Canon, USA, did very well, was recruited by Konica, USA for the OKC market, left Ft. Smith for OKC, did very well there. A friend told me about a position available with a national news distributor (magazine distribution). I interviewed and took the job. Moved to Tulsa, then promoted to Austin, TX, promoted again to Knoxville, TN, promoted again to Florence, AL, relocated to new home office in Atlanta, GA, relocated back to Florence, AL in the Distribution Center. A recent tragedy in my life was the loss of my mother. She was shot by a disturbed boy in her own little quiet neighborhood. It has changed my life forever in many ways. The person who shot her got 2 life without parole sentences and about 120 years (he went on a shooting spree), do a google search on Daniel Fears Sallisaw Oklahoma and you can read about it if you wish. Her name was Pat Wells.
I really like my home and Florence. It's a small town with lots of national retail stores and restuarants. Easy commute (10 minutes, compared to an hour and a half in Atlanta). Good people. My wife Sharon and I have chosen not to have children and rely on my nieces and nephews for "kid time". We like to go on mini-vacations to state parks, Nashville, Birmingham, Memphis and like to gamble in Tunica, MS.
