Roger's Story

Where did all the years go? I retired from 32 years of teaching in 2002. In a nut shell, after Monterey High, I went to MPC, Chico State for my BA and teaching credential, then US Army, back to Chico for work on my masters, then in 1970 I started my 32 years at Verde Vale Elementary School teaching mostly 3rd and 4th grades with two years of 5th grade. ration Park in Redding, CA. I enjoy hiking, travel,and other hobbies to keep me off the streets. Once a teacher always a teacher, as I am now trying to tutor a 39 year man who is trying to pass his GED. This is a program through Shasta County Library and Shasta College. Also, the actor in me finally is coming out. I am in a living history group. We are Redding of 1872. Life is good!

Memorial Day we must remember the fallen. My Uncle Warren was killed in the Solomon Islands February 1944, while serving on PT 251. Warren James Hill served his country with honor.
