Roger's Story
Well, for those of you who look. After garber, I had decided to try college out for a bit and went to Delta College. After Delta, I decided to get my BBA from Northwood University in Midland, MI.
After Northwood, I took a job with a company named Associates Commercial Corporation, which was at the time the oldest private commercial finance company in the country (1927). Later I went it involuntary survitude with Ford, Paramont Pictures and Gulf + Western. These jobs took me to many cities. I lived in Chicago, IL, (God I do love Chicago) Ft. Worth, TX, and Boston, MA. After spending time with running around the country I took the LSAT and decided to give law school a shot. I entered Thomas M. Cooley Law School in September of 1990.
After leaving law school and thankfully passing the bar on the first shot, I came back to Bay City opened my own practice that after about a year or so, became a partnershp known as Beggs & Trerice, P.L.C. Paul Beggs and I had our practice in the Davidson Building rite next to the post office.
After about 10 years of litigation practice, I decided that change was needed. Thus I want to work for a local credit union as a Branch Manager and General Counsel.
During these years I also tought for Delta College as an Adjunct Professor, teaching in both the business division, Legal Division and my version of Social Science :).
In later 2005 after the hurricaes, Katrina, Rita and Wilma had hit, I was tapped by...Expand for more
a law school class mate to come back to the Ft. Worth, Tx. area and become a Federal Attorney for the U.S. Small Business Administration. I have been doing this for about 3 years. I loved what I do, and is really a huge departure from the courtroom work I had done for so many years. Just a few weeks ago I re-entered the courtroom now as a Federal Specialist Attorney and yes I even came back to Bay City and have an office in the Academy Center at 512 N. Linclon Road, Suite #201. As with all things in life change can be a good thing, and as much as I did enjoy being a Federal Attorney, I don't miss the politics of it all.
Personal life. Well I am divorced, and have never had any children. I have a dog named Rocky, I guess he is my 10 year old child. As for dating, I will say, "DAMN, things have changed... At 44, I have had to make many adjustments :-).
I hope all is well with my old classmates. Each of you, please take care and remember live today as if it is your last!
Long term goals for me would be to re-enter the classroom at some point and teach at the University level. After 10 years at Delta College, I would love to teach at SVSU or Northwood.
I hope to catch-up with many of the people I had friendships with, and even some I drove nuts (You know who you are)
Well that is the update for now. I look forward to seeing some of you around town. I hope and trust each of you are doing well. Take the best of care!!
