Rollo's Story
After graduating from WR, got a full tuition scholarship to TU as a University Scholar. Did NOT behave in college and lost that after two years. Finished a third year at TU then transferred to Oklahoma Christian in Edmond. Finished there and my first job out of college was with Canteen Service Co. Had that for 6 months and was hired at the Oklahoma Office of State Finance as a Budget Analyst Trainee. Worked there for almost 29 years, working my way up to Deputy Director of State Finance. Wonderful job and experiences. Worked with every governor from Bellmon to Brad Henry (and with Mary Fallin when she was Lt. Governor). Many, many legislators; some great and some not so much. When Henry was a Senator, he shepherded the bill creating the Oklahoma L...Expand for more
ottery through the legislature. Then he was elected Governor and wound up appointing the very first Lottery Board of Trustees. In Feb of 2005, he asked me to help them get up and running, which I did. The very first director they hired asked me to come to work for him getting the Lottery up and running, and I did, in June of 2005. March of 2012, the director retired and the Board of Trustees appointed me as the 2nd Oklahoma Lottery Director in June of 2012. This one has been my dream job; lots of fun; excitement; challenges; and a whole lot of wonderful people. I am retiring 11/1/2020, and look forward to spending a lot more time with my wife of 40 years, Annette (Arnn) Redburn of Tulsa, Dallas and OKC; my three grown kids and my three grandkids.
