Life I tend to make friends over the years over morning coffee. Generally I hang with older people. This means I tend to visit the funeral home from time to time...more than I should living 800 miles from the hometown. I work with people many 30-35 years my junior. That's an education on its own. Nine years ago, friends of mine had a baby girl and suddenly I was changing diapers and being responsible for a little life when her parents were working. Two years ago, her father, my friend passed suddenly at 37. Caregiving is the biggest challenge in my life being called upon to look after this now 4th grader when her mother or grandmother aren't handy.
