Ron's Story
Life
After working in the hospitality industry for far too long, I went back to college at Kent State U. in 1998. I graduated with a BA in political science, took a year off, and am now attending law school in Akron, Ohio. Maybe by the time I'm 40 I will have a real job. :P
I plan on working in Washington, D.C. as a lobbyist. Move over, Abramoff. Nah, just kidding. Those guys get a bad rap. They are necessary to inform our representatives of issues which...Expand for more
our elected officials know nothing about. Senators and Reps can't really vote on laws if they know zilch about the subject matter. That is where lobbyists come in. It's not all about bribery and illegal gifts.
I plan on doing my work for the Sierra Club or another environmental interest group. A law degree isn't really necessary for this type of work, but most have one and it is probably necessary-in-fact if one wishes to have much success in that field.
