"In this year, 2020, Democracy vs Autocracy, is on the ballot. Wherever you are on the spectrum: conservative, liberal, Christian or otherwise, a vote for Trump is a vote against our democratic republic and for autocracy. If you are a Christian and committed to the path of Christ, you will vote for democracy against Trump.
Let me make this case: the religious right, supporting Trump, have made a pact with him for the benefit of their pro-life evangelical longevity but at the cost of a dishonest and evil alliance. How so you ask?
The characteristics of Jesus are Truth, Decency, Discretion, Kindness, Love and Wisdom. Jesus lived the uncompromising emanation of scriptural wisdom. He would not compromise with evil. And yet, the religious right who declare themselves to be true Christian disciples, have compromised with evil for benefit of Trump's support of judicial appointments. In other words, the religious right are in support of both God and power. (Matthew 6:24 You cannot serve two masters).
Wait a minute you say, how is voting for Trump serving evil? Read on. Trump fails all the attributes of Jesus stated in the first sentence of the previous paragraph. Scriptural wisdom additionally tells us from Luke 6:45 "An evil man produces evil deeds from his hidden wickedness. Whatever is in the heart overflows into speech.' Trump constantly lies! He is an evil man!
Though Trump is not specifically named in the scripture, he is identified by his words and actions: dishonesty, disrespect of others, mockery, unfairness, favoritism, lawlessness, arrogance, foolishness, cheating, quick temper, rebelliousness, and treachery. Scripture identifying those evil traits are found throughout religious world scriptures (Torah, Bible, Bhagavad Gita, etc.) I would recommend that Evangelicals look to the voice and books of the founder of ‘Moral Mondays’, the Rev. Dr. William Barber II. That group is an all encompassing Christ-like organization, which does not discriminate by place of birth, race, color, or sexual orientation or preference. Access some of his talks and sermons can be found on utube.
I have been committed, for numerous years, to my spiritual path, Self-Realizaton Fellowship, in pursuit of a higher consciousness through meditation. I would recommend to anyone curious as to what meditation can do for them, to read, "Autobiography of a Yogi", by Paramahansa Yogananda, and pursue further reading material and studies suggested in that book. One of his books that would be most helpful to Holy Bible readers would be: 'The Second Coming of Christ', a two volume tome, with commentaries of this Christ-like master about the 1st four books of the New Testament. There are other available books which can be found by a web search on 'Self-Realization Fellowship' web site.
