Ron's Story

I grew up in North Hollywood (Kinder, 1st, 1/2 of 4th, 5th and 1/2 of 6th - Colfax Elementary), Santa Barbara (2nd Isla Vista, 1/2 of 3rd McKennly, other half of 3rd and 1/2 of 4th El Rancho), and Van Nuys (1/2 of 6th Valerio, 7-9 SOCES, 10-12th Garfield High). After graduating Garfield High School, I attended Los Angeles Valley College for two years. I spent my early years catching up on all those classes that I never studied for in High School - well, except computer class. I went up to Santa Barbara to live with my dad at the end of 1987. I met my wife Dec 17th 1988 in Santa Barbara while attending City College there. I had been dumped twice that year by girls that said "I was too serious". My wife and I hit it off real well and hung out every day since - not being serious. We moved down to Northridge in 1990 so I could finish my 8 year trek called college. I spent 4 years there and graduated with BA in liberal studies (no teaching degree - but may be some day) and a minor in computer science. We married in 1996 after college and now have 3 kids. I live and work in Los Angeles. I have a computer company called One Hour Computer Backup (OHCB) and help all kinds of people with computers. If you need any help you call in or look me up. ded Web Development to my knowledge base and can set up custom web sites to all kinds of things. Life is full and real busy these days, but I always try to find time to catch up with old friends any time. In 2011 I started taking classes at Landmark Worldwide - Including The Landmark Forum, Communication Access to Power and Communication Power to Create. I am currently in the Landmark Team Leadership and Management Program. My life and possibilities for participation in life have widened dramatically. My current Team project is Having our K-12 Students be related to their education where they see it as there own. To help get them there, I am working with LAUSD and Teachers in LAUSD to get Apps created for all the new Common Core Standards that will be implemented this year 2014. The end goal is to link up K-12 teachers with college students learning how to program. Through an information exchange web site, the programing students can have a content mentor to guide them through their web program or app, so as to match the Common Core Standard. Finally a certification process will be created so the apps can be certified tested and approved for all the students in the United States to play with. Coming Sept 2014 Hope to hear from you all soon. Ron
