Ron's Story

Life After growing up in North Bend and graduation, hardly ever leaving the coast (except for family vacations), I joined the Navy to "see the world". (Check out my military bio) My wife Pami (Marshfield class of 85) and I have been married since 88. We have two children, Jordan and Haley, that have kept us running from one game/competition/race/event to the next. Because of my military service, we moved from North Bend to San Diego, CA to Oak Harbor, WA to Pearl Harbor, HI to Bremerton, WA to Poquoson, VA and then back to Oak Harbor, WA. We now live in Bellingham, WA. As for "Life", I'm lovin every minute of it. Every day that I wake up breathing is a beautiful day. I just consider the alternative. I hope never to "grow up" as I was told so many times to do. After spending time doing family stuff, I enjoy going ATV riding on my Polaris Sportsman 500, hunting, fishing, hiking, etc. For stress management, I umpire softball games and get plenty of face to face time with players that feel the need to give me constructive criticism. LOL Besides my day job with the Public Utility District, I volunteered and was accepted into the local fire department. Graduated from the fire fighting academy on June 5, 2008. I like talking to classmates, shipmates, teammates or anyone else that I've known. I've learned the hard way that "tomorrow" or "next time" might not ever come, so I try not to leave anything unsaid. Send me a note and say "Hi". Pami and I still have relatives and friends in the North Bend/Coos Bay area, so we get down there a couple of times each year. Maybe I'll see some of you there.
