Ron's Story
Since graduation in 1960, I have lived in 24 cities in five different countries (U.S., Canada, Dominican Republic, China, Guatemala). I spent four years in the Army Security Agency, have completed education through BA, MA, and Ph.D. in English and American Literature, and have retired from university teaching after 40 years. center named after me at Black Mountain College Museum and Art Center in Asheville, NC. I have translated and published three volumes of short stories by the Chinese woman avant-garde writer Can Xue. I currently live on Long Island in NY. I have fond memories of many people who were dear to me at special moments in our years together in Iowa, and sad memories for those we have lost, some of them in tragic circumstances.
