Ron's Story

Life Left Hinkley HS 3rd quarter of my junior year – my parents moved into the Cherry Creek School District and I finished out at Smoky Hill. I was involved in choir since 8th grade and received a voice performance scholarship to a school in Oklahoma. Blew out my vocal cords and was in a pretty serious car accident my freshman year. Took some time off and started at CSU in Fort Collins – graduated in 1993. Married that same year. Took a job with Hewlett-Packard and developed a damn good career out of that. - at the age of 31 - life crashed. Laid off with a large downsizing, divorce, meningitis – a few of the things that occurred in that 12 month span. Hit bottom hard - spent quite a bit of time dancing with demons of my past and cleaning out the skeletons from my closets. Been a slow journey to a good place in life now. Happily married, have three awesome girls, and have work as Software Program Manager. I have remained in Fort Collins since arriving here back in 1989 to start at CSU. It’s not bad. One day I am going to live somewhere where there is no snow and with a beach out my door.
