Ron's Story
Life info since graduating in 1971:
Did 4 years in the US Navy right out of high school. Enjoyed it but not enough to make a career of it. On the same ship (USS Hunley) for 3 1/2 years working as a storekeeper in the stock control office. Stationed in Guam (the longest year of my life), visited Sydney, Australia, Hawaii, Japan, Mexico, & Cuba (Castro can have that place). Also stationed in Bremerton WA and Charleston SC. Worked in an auto body shop for 5 years in Cedar Falls, IA. after the Navy (same one I worked at for 2 years while in high school). Went to work as an insurance agent for Prudential in 1981. Transferred to Omaha in Nov.1987. Left Prudential after 18 years and went to work for Farm Bureau Financial Services in May 1999. Like it at FB better and much bet...Expand for more
ter money too. I'm married to Rachel who was an RN but retired May 2014. Children: Joe was born in 1978 and lives in Seattle with wife, Beth and son, Jack(born April 2014). He is a very successful investment advisor for UBS. Laura was born in 1982 and lives in Shreveport with husband, Devon Patton, who is the 10PM anchorman on KTBS3. They have 3 daughters, Naiya, Bree & Olivia. Stephanie was born in 1984 and married Nick Bennett in March 2014 with no children yet. They live near us in Omaha.
