Elementary School When I started kindergarten, my Dad was my bus driver (bus 5 which was renumbered to 32) and the head custodian, so I always got to get out of class to go fetch him. We moved from Aptos to La Selva Beach when I was 2, so I like to say I'm from Aptos (where my father moved to in 1918) but LSB is really home. Remember moving to the brand new Valencia school on top of the hill? It was always supposed to be the junior high, but we were there in 5th grade. My Dad, Les, was also there, and he used to draw pictures of all the kids. I got to work in the lunch room, and we got our hot lunches from the old school, which is where I went to junior high. We had shop in the old kindergarten room, but I missed out working on car engines because I took German. High School I hung out in the Math office most of the time, and was a founding father of the F.O.A. Let's just say it stands for Friends Of Aptos.
