Ron's Story
Greetings, All!
Enlisted in the US Air Force upon Gateway High School graduation and enjoyed it so much I made a career of it! Retired from active duty in 1998 after 25+ exciting years. Sadly, I lost the love of my life May 28th, 2021--married 47 years! My dear Cheryl and I had such a wonderful life together...
One son, one grandson and a grandbaby girl born July 2, 2021.. Fell in love with the South after being stationed at Keesler AFB twice during my career. Decided to sink roots on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and landed a fantastic second career in the casino industry with Treasure Bay Casino in Biloxi! I retired on June 1st, 2023 after 26 years!

I did not enjoy my Gateway High years. But I do have many fond memories of my 8 years at St. Bernadette--and all the fun times I had OUT of high school! Ha! Have kept in touch with my old University Park neighborhood childhood gang for over 50 years--Bob Bowers, Walt Peer, Gene Piano, Larry Lyons, Dan Miley, Skip Craig, Russ Smith, Rick Duffy, Tom Flynn, Dave Vogel...
Too cheap to continue on Classmates much longer so if anyone wants to get hold of me please go to the Gateway Gators alumni website.
Just got back from the 'Burgh...attended my very first Gateway HS Reunion at 50 years!
Better late than never--and had a GREAT time!
